The short version

  • Scrubby is a free bot that removes trackers from links in Discord servers.
  • It works by reposting your message without the trackers and deleting the original. You stay responsible for what you post.
  • Cleaning is best-effort. It may miss a tracker or, rarely, change a link in a way you didn't expect.
  • It's provided as-is. Don't abuse it, and follow Discord's rules. How we handle data is described in the Privacy Policy.

1. Accepting these terms

These terms apply to the official Scrubby Discord bot (“Scrubby”, “we”, “us”). You accept them if you add Scrubby to a server, or post messages in a server where Scrubby is active. If you don't agree, don't add Scrubby, or ask a server administrator to remove it.

2. The service

Scrubby finds links in messages and removes tracking and sharer-identifying parameters, such as utm_source, fbclid or YouTube's si. For some short links (for example vm.tiktok.com), it follows the link to find the full address before cleaning it.

When a message contains a link that can be cleaned, Scrubby:

If it can't do that, it replies with the clean links instead.

Scrubby is provided free of charge.

3. Discord's rules

You must follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines when using Scrubby, including Discord's minimum age requirements. Nothing in these terms overrides them.

4. Server administrators

By adding Scrubby to a server, you confirm that:

You can limit Scrubby to specific channels with Discord's permission settings, or remove it at any time.

5. Your content

You keep all rights to what you post. You give us a limited permission to process your messages, and repost their text and attachments in the same channel, only to provide the link-cleaning feature.

A repost is your content, attributed to you. You remain fully responsible for it. Scrubby doesn't review or moderate what it reposts.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Security issues should be reported responsibly through our contact channel rather than exploited.

7. Best-effort cleaning

Platforms change their links often. Scrubby uses published rules and reasonable effort, but we don't guarantee that it will:

If a link matters, check it. You can stop Scrubby from changing a link by putting it in code formatting.

8. Availability and changes

We may change, pause or stop Scrubby, or any of its features, at any time and without notice. Examples include adding or removing supported platforms or changing limits. We don't promise any particular uptime.

9. Ending use

You can stop using Scrubby at any time. A server administrator can remove the bot from their server.

We may stop providing Scrubby to any server or user, for example after abuse or a breach of these terms. Sections 5, 10 and 11 still apply after use ends.

10. No warranty

Scrubby is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. This includes warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that the service will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free. This applies to the extent permitted by law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of Scrubby. This includes lost messages, lost data, broken or altered links, and downtime.

Scrubby is free, so our total liability for any claim is limited to zero. Where the law does not allow that, it is limited to the smallest amount the law permits.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations. Where that's the case, these limitations apply only as far as the law allows.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Scrubby after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Contact
